Nrityangan Kathak Dance Academy will be hosting Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj-ji and his troupe from Kalashram in a live concert in Indianapolis on Sunday, September 7, 2014.  Panditji is considered to be a living legend as a practitioner and teacher/guru of Kathak (a North Indian classical dance form).   

 

This is the first time that a Padma Vibhushan artist from India will be performing in Indianapolis.

    The 5 hour drive was totally worth it. The concert was spectacular. It felt like was having a conversation more than watching a maestro.
